Native American Initiatives

AmeriResource Technologies Inc. has a history of working with Native Americans to provide meaningful solutions and opportunities for improvement.

The Company’s interest in Native American business opportunities is related to the fact that CEO Delmar A. Janovec is a descendant of the Mdewakanton Wahpakoota and Sisseton-Wahpeton bands of the Sioux American Indian Tribe.

Among the Company’s past initiatives was a program to provide affordable mortgages to Native Americans so they could buy homes when HUD and the BIA amended their rules to allow mortgages on the Federal Indian Reservations. In July 1998, the Company acquired First Americans Mortgage Corporation (First Americans), which had incorporated in Missouri in July 1995. The Company devoted substantial resources to developing and implementing an efficient system whereby Native Americans could apply online for mortgages to purchase their homes that were to be constructed on the Federal Indian Reservations. The new regulations were slow to be implemented in the field due to the abundance of changes in the governmental regulations, which created a logjam in the mortgage approval process of a Native American applicant as well as the actual construction process for the home. Therefore, the Company exited the business by selling 100% of First Americans to an officer of First Americans in December 1999.

The Company continues to consider various business opportunities that offer mutual benefits for Native Americans and for the Company’s shareholders.
